Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Academy Tigers vs. Greensboro Day School Bengals

The Trinity Academy Tigers will head out to take on the Greensboro Day School Bengals at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Trinity Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They blew past Grace Christian 80-58. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Greensboro Day School waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 65-48. Given the Bengals' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Cougars are ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Greensboro Day School's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points over those games. As for Trinity Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

Trinity Academy came up short against Greensboro Day School in their previous meeting back in January, falling 68-62. Can Trinity Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
