Basketball Recap: Como-Pickton Comes Up Short

Como-Pickton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 71-31 loss at the hands of the Cooper Bulldogs. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

It was another big night for Jequan Brown, who went 11 of 19 on his way to 26 points for Cooper. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Cooper's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Dial, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 19 points.

Como-Pickton's loss dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Cooper, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Como-Pickton and Trinity Christian Academy will round out the year against one another at at 12:45 p.m. on December 28th. After both having extra time off, Cooper and Boles will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 8:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
