Basketball Recap: Neligh-Oakdale Beats Creighton for Their Third Straight Victory

Neligh-Oakdale had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 44-31 win over the Creighton Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Warriors: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 36-35 defeat.

Neligh-Oakdale can attribute much of their success to Jaquelin Luna-Duran, who posted 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Gadeken, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 boards.

Neligh-Oakdale smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Neligh-Oakdale's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Creighton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-18.

Looking ahead, Neligh-Oakdale will head out to challenge North Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Creighton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
