Basketball Recap: Lisbon Comes Up Short

Lisbon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 34th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Madison Bulldogs and fell 70-22. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 36th).

Lisbon's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Madison, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lisbon will square off against Oak Hill at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lisbon is facing Oak Hill at the right time seeing as Oak Hill is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Madison, they will venture away from home to face off against Spruce Mountain at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. Spruce Mountain is on a three-game streak of home wins, Madison a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
