Basketball Recap: Riverside Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Riverside Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Rocket City Falcons and fell 52-22. Riverside Christian Academy was not able to make up for their loss to Rocket City from their previous meeting back in November of 2022.

Rocket City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Goodwin, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Goodwin has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of James David Coln, who posted ten points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Riverside Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Rocket City, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.

Riverside Christian Academy will head out to face off against Franklin Road Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 20th. Franklin Road Christian has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 181 points over their last three games. As for Rocket City, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-57 loss against Tabernacle on the 17th.
