Basketball Recap: Newport Comes Up Short

Newport lost against St. George back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Newport Grizzlies were beaten by the St. George's Dragons 68-41.

Newport dropped their record down to 2-17 with the loss, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. George's, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Newport will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Davenport at 5:45 p.m. As for St. George's, they will face off against Northwest Christian School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northwest Christian School knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully St. George's likes a good challenge.
