Flag Football Recap: Rio Rico Skates Past Pueblo with Ease

Rio Rico got themselves on the board against Pueblo on Thursday, but Pueblo never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 52-0 win over the Warriors. Considering the Hawks have won three matchups by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rio Rico's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaslene Maddox, who threw for 193 yards and six touchdowns while completing 73.7% of her passes. Those six passing touchdowns gave Maddox a new career-high. Another receiver making a difference was Kenia Navarro, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Rio Rico didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jelanie Ryser-Cantua and Allison Olivera.

The win got Rio Rico back to even at 5-5. As for Pueblo, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Rio Rico will square off against Desert Sunrise at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pueblo, they will challenge Nogales at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
