Soccer Game Preview: Horse Creek Academy vs. Augusta E

The Horse Creek Academy Stallions will challenge the Augusta E Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Horse Creek Academy is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fox Creek just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Predators by a score of 3-2. One reason for the loss might be Horse Creek Academy's aggressive play style: three Horse Creek Academy players were handed yellow cards.

Tyler Simpkins wasn't going to let Fox Creek walk away unscathed as he scored both of Horse Creek Academy's goals, bringing his season total up to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Augusta E kept a clean sheet against Mead Hall Episcopal School last Tuesday. They blew past the Panthers 4-0. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for Augusta E considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Augusta E's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Horse Creek Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Horse Creek Academy beat Augusta E by a goal in their previous matchup on April 3rd, winning 2-1. Do the Stallions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
