Volleyball Recap: Abilene Cowboys vs. Andale Indians
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Abilene can now relate to. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Andale Indians on Saturday. The Cowboys were not able to make up for their defeat to the Indians from their previous meeting back in October of 2022.
The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-17.
Josie Keener and Lola Rock certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Keener had ten digs, while Rock had four digs. Rylee Miller also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Andale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abbi Winter, who had 14 assists and four digs. Winter has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Carley Keller, who had nine digs and two assists.
Abilene now has a losing record of 18-19. As for Andale, the win was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 31-1.
Abilene does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Andale, they will take on Bishop Miege at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
