Jacob Wamsley made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaxon Drennen, who scored five runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those five runs gave him a new career-high. Adam Woods was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Tygarts Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clay-Battelle only posted an OBP of .469.
The win got Tygarts Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Webster County, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
