Baseball Recap: Kingston Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Kingston and Valley meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 2-1. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 9-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kingston saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Hahn, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Kingston's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-9. As for Valley, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingston will square off against Marquand-Zion at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley, they will face off against Arcadia Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.23 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
