Softball Recap: Swett Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Swett ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Vallejo Redhawks 15-14. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Redhawks: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Selene Schlepp, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. Schlepp is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Maddie Jones also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Swett was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Swett's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Vallejo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-4-1 record this season.
