Basketball Recap: North Florida Christian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for North Florida Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 27-14 win over the St. John Paul II Panthers on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

St. John Paul II's loss came despite strong showings from Alyssa Jacobs and Aliyah Medrano. Jacobs posted six points in addition to ten boards and five steals, while Medrano had three points and nine rebounds. What's more, Jacobs also racked up four blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

North Florida Christian's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for St. John Paul II, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

North Florida Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-39 defeat against Leon on the 10th. As for St. John Paul II, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the St. John Paul II Panthers face off against the Altha Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
