Basketball Game Preview: Canton Tigers vs. Forest Hill Patriots

The Canton Tigers will take on the Forest Hill Patriots in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Forest Hill took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Canton, who comes in off a win.

On Saturday, Canton beat South Jones 68-58. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 70th, while the Braves are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, Forest Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 56-48 to Holmes County Central.

Canton is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Forest Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Canton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Forest Hill in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-47 victory. Will Canton repeat their success, or does Forest Hill have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
