Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Bridge). They enjoyed a cozy 77-59 victory over the Deep Creek Hornets on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Hornets back in December of 2024, they had to take a 75-41 defeat.

Great Bridge's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 3-16. As for Deep Creek, they dropped their record down to 4-18 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home.

Great Bridge and Deep Creek could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Great Bridge (ranked 364th) will meet Western Branch (ranked 141st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Deep Creek will square off against Oscar Smith at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 281 places (287 vs. 6).
