Soccer Game Preview: Mingo Central vs. Lincoln County

The Mingo Central Miners will head out to face off against the Lincoln County Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mingo Central's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

While Mingo Central's victory against Westside wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Miners narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Renegades 1-0. The victory continues a trend for Mingo Central in their matchups with Westside: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Lincoln County's game on Saturday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Scott by a score of 2-1. Lincoln County fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Scott since Saturday.

Lincoln County's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Mingo Central, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-6-1.

Mingo Central suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Lincoln County when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
