Volleyball Recap: Hough Takes a Loss

Hough was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Marvin Ridge Mavericks, falling 3-0. If the Huskies were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-14.

Among those leading the charge was Brooklyn Wilson, who had 12 digs and three aces.

Hough's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Marvin Ridge, their win was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

Hough and Marvin Ridge should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Huskies will square off against West Mecklenburg at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (170 vs. 616). Meanwhile, Marvin Ridge (ranked fifth) will meet Weddington (ranked 35th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
