Basketball Preview: Oakcrest Chargers vs. Foxcroft None

Oakcrest is 3-0 against the None since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Oakcrest Chargers will head out on the road to challenge the Foxcroft None at 5:00 p.m. Oakcrest is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
While it was all tied up 27-27 at halftime, Oakcrest was not quite the Wolves' equal in the second half on Monday. Oakcrest fell to the Wolves 51-46.
Oakcrest's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mary Mehan, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 24 rebounds, and Kate Newsome who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks. Mehan is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.
Even though Foxcroft has not done well against the Hawks recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Foxcroft enjoyed a cozy 32-17 win over the Hawks. The win made it back-to-back wins for Foxcroft.
Foxcroft's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarah Ford, who scored ten points. Tashae' Allen was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Oakcrest now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Foxcroft, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Oakcrest didn't have too much breathing room in their match against the None in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 45-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oakcrest since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
