Basketball Game Preview: Hibriten Panthers vs. Ashe County Huskies + How To Watch

The Hibriten Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Ashe County Huskies at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Hibriten fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Alexander Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since January 24th.

Despite the defeat, Hibriten got top-tier performance from Aamori Patterson, who shot 50% from the field en route to 16 points and five rebounds. Patterson is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emilee Cook, who posted nine points and five assists.

Meanwhile, Ashe County had to start their season on the road last Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The matchup between the Huskies and Alexander Central didn't end well, with the Huskies falling 62-48. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 14 in a row.

Hibriten beat Ashe County 56-47 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
