Football Recap: Bishop Mcguinness Starts off Right with Win over Forbush

Bishop McGuinness had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 37-20 win over the Forbush Falcons on Friday.

Tristan Styers was nothing short of spectacular: he threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns. 93 of those passing yards were hauled in by Sam Ball.

Bishop McGuinness didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Forbush to a completion percentage of just 43.3%. The Villains weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 57.6%.

When it comes to explaining why Forbush lost, don't look at Keanu Escalante. Despite the final result, he rushed for 121 yards and a pair of scores. Escalante's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McGuinness will venture away from home to face off against West Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Forbush, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
