Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Albuquerque Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Valencia Jaguars by a score of 37-34 on Tuesday. The Chargers' defeat signaled the end of their 15-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Albuquerque Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lily Skarsgard went 6-for-15 en route to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiara Brown, who posted two points and eight boards.

Albuquerque Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 24-5. As for Valencia, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 25-7.

Albuquerque Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Valencia, they will square off against Kirtland Central at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Kirtland Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
