Football Recap: Olive Branch Takes a Loss

Olive Branch had lost four straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it five. They were beaten by the Kosciusko Whippets 48-21. While losing is never fun, the Conquistadors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Whippets are ranked 27th).

Kylen Reed threw for 105 yards and one TD. Marcus Jamison Jr was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards and one score.

As for Kosciusko, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Cj Sandifer continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 124 yards and a pair of touchdowns. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 105.8 rushing yards per game. Caiden Wade was another key player, throwing for 152 yards and one TD.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olive Branch will square off against Senatobia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kosciusko, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Choctaw County at 7:00 p.m.
