Edwardsville is 8-2 against Belleville West since June of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Maroons at 5:30 p.m. Edwardsville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.

Last Thursday, Edwardsville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Alton 2-1.

Edwardsville was dominant in they sets they won, taking each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 19-25, 25-9.

Edwardsville found their leader in sophomore Jude Lawrence, who had 17 assists and four digs.

Meanwhile, Belleville West beat Althoff Catholic 2-0 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Maroons.

Belleville West easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-13.

Edwardsville's record now sits at 21-11. As for Belleville West, their record is now 12-15.

Edwardsville beat Belleville West 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
