Nokomis had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Dirigo on Saturday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 17-8 win. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Nokomis got a great performance from Zach Furrow as he tossed five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Caden Chretien was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Isaac Furrow, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Nokomis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .587. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Nokomis' record now sits at 3-4. As for Dirigo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-5.

Looking ahead, Nokomis will face off against Belfast at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dirigo, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Spruce Mountain at 4:00 p.m.
