The Estero Wildcats will challenge the Bonita Springs Bullsharks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Estero has three straight wins, Bonita Springs has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Estero's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They really took it to Island Coast for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Nathan Watters continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 121 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Maddox Stewart, who threw for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Estero was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Estero, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kegan Kreuscher, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bonita Springs was beaten by Lely 64-8 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bullsharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 521st, while the Trojans are ranked 141st).
Bonita Springs' loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Estero, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's matchup: Estero has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 356.2 total yards per game. It's a different story for Bonita Springs, though, as they've been averaging only 136.8 total yards. Will Estero be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Bullsharks flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Estero against Bonita Springs when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 61-21 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Bullsharks' Zach Prieto, who rushed for 195 yards and three scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Wildcats to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
