Volleyball Recap: Lehi Pioneers vs. Corner Canyon Chargers
Lehi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Corner Canyon Chargers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
While Lehi was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-14, 25-17.
Corner Canyon can attribute much of their success to Nafanua Alofipo, who had 30 assists and ten digs. Alofipo has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last ten times she's played.
Lehi now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Corner Canyon, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.
Lehi wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Cottonwood on the 13th. As for Corner Canyon, they will venture away from home to take on American Fork at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
