Softball Game Recap: Samuell Spartans vs. Wilson Wildcats

Samuell extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 19 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-16. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 19-0 to the Wilson Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 back in March.

As for Wilson, they pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Wilson's part, the team relied heavily on Taylor Rogers, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave Rogers a new career-high. Another player making a difference was London Mcnealy, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Looking ahead, Samuell is taking a road trip to take on Poteet at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs in their last six games. As for Wilson, they will be playing at home against Spruce at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Timberwolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.56 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
