Softball Game Preview: Castlewood Blue Devils vs. J.I. Burton Black Raiders

Castlewood hasn't had much luck against J.I. Burton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Black Raiders at 5:00 p.m. Castlewood has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Castlewood is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 12th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Lebanon, falling 13-1.

Meanwhile, the third road matchup was the charm for J.I. Burton, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Honaker 3-1.

The victory got J.I. Burton back to even at 2-2. As for Castlewood, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Castlewood couldn't quite finish off J.I. Burton in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 3-1. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
