League recap: Providence Academy paces Tri-Metro with three wins over past week

Tri-Metro league recap: 5/22/13

Providence Academy outpaced the rest of the league this week, as its three total wins led the league. The Lions beat Breck 7-0 and St. Agnes 10-0.

Providence Academy made the biggest jump in the standings this week, moving from tenth to sixth place in Tri-Metro thanks to a 3-0 record over the past seven days. Meanwhile, Blake fell hardest in the standings, dropping from seventh all the way to ninth place after going 1-3 in the past week. Minnehaha Academy (10-4, 7-1) is the No. 1 team in the league.

The Mustangs' pitching staff had a strong showing this week, allowing only 21 hits and nine walks, both of which led the league.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Bennet Johnson, who turned in two Ks for Breck. With ten strikeouts this year so far, he ranks first in the league.
