Softball Recap: Flour Bluff's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Flour Bluff waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Gregory-Portland Wildcats. The game was the first time the Hornets have beaten the Wildcats on their field since April 17, 2023.

Kenzie O'Brien spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Mia Ortega and Addison Mayo did most of the damage at the plate: Ortega went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run, while Mayo went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Ortega has posted since back in February.

Flour Bluff's record is now 19-7. As for Gregory-Portland, their loss dropped their record down to 19-10.

Flour Bluff has already played their next matchup, a 6-5 victory against King on the 17th. As for Gregory-Portland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-2 win against Poth on the 22nd.
