Baseball Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

Westover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 17-1 to the Western Harnett Eagles. If the Wolverines were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Western Harnett, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.

Westover and Western Harnett could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Westover will face off against Triton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 270 places (481 vs. 211). Meanwhile, Western Harnett (ranked 431st) will meet Overhills (ranked 197th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
