Softball Recap: Forestview Takes a Loss

Forestview might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Cherryville who claimed the real prize. The Forestview Jaguars fell just short of the Cherryville Ironmen by a score of 8-7. If the Jaguars were looking for revenge after losing 10-7 to the Ironmen when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lily Cabe and Kaitlyn Baker did some serious damage despite the final result: Cabe went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Baker scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Forestview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Forestview now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cherryville, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Forestview has already played their next contest, a 6-3 loss against Lincolnton on the 6th. As for Cherryville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-1 victory against Polk County on the 6th.
