Softball Recap: Newberg Comes Up Short

Forest Grove hit Newberg with a six-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers came up short against the Vikings, falling 12-5. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost four in a row.

Newberg saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Spry, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one double. That home run marked the first that Spry has launched this season.

Newberg now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Forest Grove, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5.

Coincidentally, Newberg and Forest Grove will both be playing Century the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Vikings will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
