Soccer Game Preview: Calabasas vs. Agoura

The Calabasas Coyotes will challenge the Agoura Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Agoura took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Calabasas, who comes in off a win.

Calabasas is headed into the contest having not lost since January 13 and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Oaks Christian a 3-0 shutout on Friday. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Lions are ranked 777th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Agoura was not quite Thousand Oaks' equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 2-1. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Lancers recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Calabasas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight matches. As for Agoura, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10-3.

Calabasas came out on top in a nail-biter against Agoura in their previous matchup back in January, sneaking past 1-0. Will Calabasas repeat their success, or does Agoura have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
