Basketball Game Preview: Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs vs. Ridgeview Christian Crusaders

Two dominant guards in Emily Evans and Abby Fox are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Westover Christian Academy Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Ridgeview Christian Crusaders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Westover Christian Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Westover Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory.

Evans was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 30 points and 14 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 12 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mollie Lackey, who went 5-for-12 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Westover Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 15 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview Christian came up short against Grace Christian on Friday and fell 29-21. The Crusaders haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Westover Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 17-6. As for Ridgeview Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
