Basketball Recap: Craigmont Comes Up Short

Craigmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against the Covington Chargers, falling 61-31. The Chiefs were down 57-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Covington found their leader in sophomore TaKyra Boddie, who went 6 of 15 en route to 18 points along with five boards and four steals. The match was Boddie's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Londyn Brown, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points.

Craigmont's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Covington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-11.

Craigmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-22 defeat against Harding Academy on the 18th. Covington has also already played their next game, a 50-45 loss against Humboldt on the 18th.
