Baseball Recap: Rancho Bernardo Has No Trouble Against Carlsbad

After only two runs in their last matchup, Rancho Bernardo made sure to put some runs up on the board against Carlsbad on Friday. The Broncos put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 13-4 victory. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Lancers last Wednesday, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Caden Dockan tossed a big game, tossing six innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Rancho Bernardo is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-6 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on NATHAN BEMBENEK, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cristiaan Gonzalez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

The win got Rancho Bernardo back to even at 7-7. As for Carlsbad, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rancho Bernardo will square off against La Costa Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mavericks' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Broncos' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Carlsbad, they will challenge Torrey Pines at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
