Kimball hadn't done well against Bridgeport recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Longhorns sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Bulldogs. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 7, 2021, but that streak is no more.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Kimball who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-22.

Hannah Kilgore had a dynamite game, getting 15 digs and two aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024.

Kilgore wasn't the only good servers: Kimball was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. The Longhorns are 5-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Kimball's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Bridgeport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-7.

Kimball has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Hershey on the 23rd. As for Bridgeport, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Hemingford on the 23rd.
