Softball Recap: Gayville-Volin Raiders vs. Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans

With a playoff game on the line, Gayville-Volin rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They blew past the Mt. Vernon/Plankinton Titans 11-1. Considering Gayville-Volin has won eight matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ayla Dimmer made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Dimmer has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive pitching appearances. Dimmer was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Jolie Westrum was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Paisley Dimmer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
