Basketball Recap: Waterford Piles Up the Points Against American Prep WV

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Waterford). They breezed by the American Prep WV Eagles to the tune of 48-11 on Tuesday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-2.

Waterford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Jones led the charge by putting up eight points. The dominant performance gave Jones a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Anne Howard, who posted nine points.

The win got Waterford back to even at 2-2. As for American Prep WV, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Waterford will take on St. Joseph in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Waterford's defense has only allowed 28 points per game this season, so St. Joseph's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for American Prep WV, they will head out to take on Merit Preparatory Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
