Football Recap: Moanalua Comes Up Short

Moanalua faced Waipahu in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Menehune were beaten by the Marauders 56-25. The Menehune lost against the Marauders in their previous head to head back in November of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 21-14 score last time.

This is the second loss in a row for Moanalua and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Waipahu, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Moanalua and Waipahu will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matches. The next time the Menehune see the field they'll take on Kaiser at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Waipahu, their break will end when they face Wai'anae at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th.
