Baseball Recap: Girard Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Girard can now relate to. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Titusville Rockets on Friday. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Girard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Ferretti, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Ferretti is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Aidan Maher also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Girard's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Titusville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Girard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Titusville, they will face off against Fairview at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
