Football Recap: Town East Christian Piles Up the Points Against Victoria Cobra Homeschool

Town East Christian waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Victoria Cobra HomeSchool Cobra 52-12.

Town East Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Abel Esquivel out in front who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 57 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes. Esquivel's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 124 rushing yards. Another receiver making a difference was Benyam Hailemariam, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two scores.

Town East Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Hailemariam.

The win got Town East Christian back to even at 4-4. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Town East Christian will welcome Hill Country K at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Victoria Cobra HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to take on Bruni at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cobra will be up against the Badgers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
