Softball Recap: Sprague Has No Trouble Against Mckay

Sprague got themselves on the board against McKay on Friday, but McKay never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Royal Scots. The Olympians haven't had any issues with the Royal Scots recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Addison Borzy looked comfortable as she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, Sprague got a massive performance out of Kaylee Lundeen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Gunia, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Sprague always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Sprague's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for McKay, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coming up, Sprague will host South Medford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKay, they will face off against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Royal Scots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
