Softball Recap: Fabens Takes a Loss

Fabens fell victim to Mountain View and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to the Lobos. The Wildcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lobos earlier this season, when they won 15-12.

Fabens saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marina Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Ortiz hit this season.

Fabens' defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Mountain View, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Fabens Wildcats take on Clint Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mountain View, they will square off against San Elizario at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
