Softball Recap: Westwood Wins Going Away Against Fontbonne Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Holliston, Westwood was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Fontbonne Academy Ducks with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Wolverines have won three matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Bridget Mulkeen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. Those 17 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Eve Clinton was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Sasha Marino was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Westwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Fontbonne Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-2.

Westwood didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-5 win against Medway on the 28th. Fontbonne Academy has also already played their next contest (against Notre Dame Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
