Basketball Recap: Lumpkin County Takes a Loss

Lumpkin County and Douglass squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Lumpkin County had to settle for second. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Douglass Astros. The Indians have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.

Lumpkin County's loss dropped their record down to 18-10. As for Douglass, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season.

Lumpkin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Douglass, they will face off against Windsor Forest on Saturday. Windsor Forest knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Douglass likes a good challenge.
