After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Minerva, Northwest was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Tuslaw Mustangs by a score of 3-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Northwest walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17.

Ashlyn Lazarus paced Northwest's offense, picking up 26 kills. Lazarus got some help from Elizabeth Kulick and her 32 assists. Savannah Geniec controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Northwest's win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Tuslaw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Looking ahead, Northwest will look to defend their home court on Monday against Barberton at 6:30 p.m. As for Tuslaw, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Triway on the 2nd.
