Corey Nugent put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2024 on Friday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Nugent and South Decatur are taking a road trip to take on Shawe Memorial at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
