Chicago Marshall hasn't had much luck against Orr recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Chicago Marshall Commandos will face off against the Orr Spartans at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chicago Marshall is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Walther Christian Academy 63-26. The Commandos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Janiyah Green and Alysha Murphy were among the main playmakers for Chicago Marshall as the former went 8-for-17 on her way to 20 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals and the latter dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 boards. The dominant performance gave Murphy a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Charmarre Scott, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten boards.
Chicago Marshall smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Orr didn't have too much trouble with Ida Crown Jewish Academy on Thursday as they won 59-42. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.
Orr's win came from a few key players Chicago Marshall will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Nia Crawford, who almost dropped a double-double with 20 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Orr's points. Carmani Sharkey was another key player, going 6-for-12 to rack up 17 points along with six boards and five steals.
Chicago Marshall pushed their record up to 25-7 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points over those games. As for Orr, their record is now 21-5.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Chicago Marshall has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 35.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Orr struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Chicago Marshall couldn't quite finish off Orr in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 and fell 57-54. Can Chicago Marshall avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
